Currency and transportation

The currency is US Dollars. Or actually, there are two currencies.  The US Dollar and the Balboa. 1$=1 Balboa. The only bills used are the "original" American dollars. But as coins, there are a mixture of quarters, dimes and cents and the local "copies" in same size. There is also a one Balboa coin. You can get any combination of these coins as change....

To ride the bus or Metro, you need en electronic card. The fare is a bargain. 25 cents on the bus and 35 on the Metro. If you fon't have a card, someone will offer to use theirs. You just give them the corresponding cents.
